Reading Log
Each month your child will bring home a reading log. Please encourage your child to read at least 20 minutes each day. They will be reading often within school; this is not enough. We need to work together to create inquisitive readers! Please support your child as they complete the reading logs and return them each month. The first log will be due on September 30th. These can be kept in your child's homework folder. If your child returns his/her reading log in the months of September-December, they will not be required to complete/return one for the months after the holidays. This is because I believe a strong pattern will be established and that is the goal! Have fun reading and discussing books with your child!
Spelling Contract
Each week we will have spelling words. The link below is a copy of the contract your child will use daily to complete his/her spelling homework. Please encourage your child to keep their contract in their homework folder. Spelling should be completed weekly and turned in on Friday. This spelling practice supports their writing on a daily basis and will enable he/she to become more independent writers.
